Founded by Angela Woodley, our empanada company celebrates the flavors of her Puerto Rican and Dominican roots, combined with her passion for plant-based living. Every empanada is made with love, using fresh, wholesome ingredients that bring comfort and joy in every bite.

Our Story

Angela Woodley’s culinary journey began in the South Bronx, where she learned the art of cooking from her parents. Her mother’s love for growing herbs and infusing them into meals helped Angela understand how flavors come together to create something truly special. After moving to Georgia in 2010 and working in the music industry, Angela started cooking empanadas for her recording studio clients. This humble beginning grew into a full-fledged business, and in 2016, La Jefa Empanadas was born.

In 2018, Angela shifted her focus to making her company a success and committed to a plant-based lifestyle. With a passion for creating delicious and authentic empanadas, she worked tirelessly to bring her vision to life. Now, La Jefa Empanadas is back, and Angela is ready to show the world that you can enjoy authentic, flavorful foods on a plant-based diet.
